The People’s News

The People’s News was a vision to create an online way of connecting people in NZ who wanted to create, and could for-see, a better time, a time where we’re not distracted by the horrors of much of our current world, but look ahead into a better world that is up to us to create.

It was a beautiful space that much love and time went into and our community grew to over 800. With the information overwhelm and multiple new apps we were all navigating over the past few years, it was in amongst so much other ‘noise’.

The options to connect and find alternative sources of news have grown a lot since TPN was created, and it became obsolete. I would like to acknowledge dear friends Ray & Jenny Ridings who 100% funded TPN for two years (the hosting and Mighty Network fee). Thanks for believing in the vision, and supporting our freedom community in many many ways.

My journey into journalism

In April this year, I was challenged by some dear friends to step into journalism. You may wonder why, in a space already filled with voices. I felt compelled to, as I could see that a change in communication style, would help those who have the ears and eyes to hear it.

Solutions-focused journalism. We hold the power to our own destiny within us. It’s very hard to live in such a way in the tirade of inflammatory, fear-based and reactionary social media and media content. So I started working on something new.

I now create content (articles, videos, podcasts) and have been on Voice Media and eLocal throughout 2023 (both are independent free-speech media). As a place to pull all my strings together, this week I created this Substack.

Freebirds Media is a new collaboration with a friend in The Netherlands. On FBM we will be chatting with people all over the world on the big topics that are happening concurrently, from a personal encounter. Check out Rumble and Telegram.

Let Kids Be Kids

In May 2023, I spoke at my son’s school BOT meeting. It was shared online to help other parents who might have also been feeling frustrated with the school system, and some challenges within it. The video viewed by tens of thousands, and so started another chapter of my life - the result is Let Kids Be Kids. More about that later.
