The Education system has been militarised both in terms of how teachers and principals are recruited, selected, treated and expected to behave and "comply" - and, in terms of the content which is delivered- typically highly prescribed training materials which is promoted as "quality pedagogy" but is not pedagogy at all. Those in charge of education at the top of the Ministry of Education know nothing about the true Philosophy of Education, which ought to be the single-most important pre-requisite for the position. That's because it was removed from universities in the early 1990s and the people in the MoE are too young to know what the true Philosophy of Education even is.
